Author Visits

Our authors visit libraries, community centers, schools, and conferences to talk about writing, their personal writing styles, and their books. Fees, tips for successful visits, and presentation requirements are provided in the drop down menu.

A sample schedule for a half-day school visit looks like this:
Session 1: 9:00 to 9:45 am
Session 2: 10:00 to 10:45 am
Autograph Session: 11:00 to noon
Optional Small Group Lunch: noon to 12:30 pm

One-hour sessions are available for libraries and community centers.

Conference invitations are handled by the author on an individual basis .

Susan C. Turner has visited schools, literary festivals, libraries, and museums in the eastern US and Florida, especially in the Tampa area. She appeared on the Mayor's Book Talk (Tampa) in November 2009 to discuss the first book in the Rufus Steele adventure series, Rufus Steele 1938. The Rufus Steele adventure series, including Rufus Steele 1938 and Rufus Steele 1940, is written for ages 8 and up. Ms. Turner's presentation for these books can be directed at the intermediate and middle grade levels. Benjamin Barley's Button is a picture book and works best for primary grade presentations. The presentation for Small Black Boxes is appropriate for all ages from 8 to adult. In addition, Susan Turner is available to discuss her writing style and process.

When The King's Flowers is released in January 2011, the author will be available for primary grade presentations and audiences especially interested in folk tales.
